GM crops are only way to save the world" read the headline over D E Margrett's letter (You Say, June 24).
I know his concern for the starving millions is genuine but I am sure he knows that there is more to GM Food technology than meets the eye.
I happen to believe that if there was the political will, the rich West could feed the hungry millions of the Third World by conventional farming methods.
In spite of the claim that GM Food technology is kinder to the environment, no scientist is prepared to discuss the long-term effect that GM technology will have on the world's eco-system.
