HAVE a blast in Tewkesbury next week when two firework extravaganzas are being staged to appeal to fans of both classic rock and classic classics.

On Friday, June 13, tribute band The Royal Family are staging a Queen Extravaganza when they will be pumping out all the familiar hits.

Loyal fans can be reassured that the band is described on the Queen website as one of the best tribute bands around, and it will be finishing the night with a firework display lighting up the sky at the Tewkesbury Park venue.

The following evening, Saturday, June 14, there will be a more traditional Classic Proms With Fireworks event at the same venue, courtesy of the Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra. Conducted by Roderick Dunk and featuring soprano Annette Wardell, the concert will include the likes of Puccini's O Mio Babbino Caro and The Blue Danube Waltz as well as proms favourites like Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory. The evening will end with fireworks set to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.

There will be a bar and refreshments on sale but those wanting a bit more luxury can book a mini marquee, table and chairs or even some fine dining or corporate hospitality. For information and tickets, call the ticket hotline on 0845 6442355, visit www.performingarts.co.uk or call in at the Tewkesbury (01684 294027), Ledbury or Malvern Tourist Information Centres.
