RELIEVED Stourport recorded their first win of the season in a high-scoring clash with Oldswinford at Walshes Meadow.

Oldswinford elected to bat first and piled up a score of 250-6 on a perfect batting strip with Phil Williams (3-51) easily the pick of the Stourport bowlers.

The home side replied in positive fashion as Bevan Neill (37) and Bryan Colley shared a half-century opening partnership.

They paved the way for a superb knock of 77 from Ian Delo before Dave Cook weighed in with 50 runs.

Neil Bailey (26 not out) and Williams eased the town home with three overs to spare.

Oldswinford 250-6, Stourport 251-4.

A great undefeated century from Steve Davis was not enough to prevent a disappointing seven-wicket reverse for the seconds at Oldswinford.

Opener Davis (112) dominated the visitors' total of 200-5 with good support from Bob Pittaway and debut-making Cliff Tomkinson.

However, despite two wickets for Martin Brewer, the home side romped home in under 40 overs.

Stourport 2nds 200-5, Oldswinford 201-3.
