OUTSTANDING openers John Riches and Matt Boden eased Chaddesley Corbett to a superb 10-wicket home victory over Hagley in Worcestershire League Division One.

Third-placed Chaddesley have now won three of their seven county fixtures with the other four matches all abandoned.

And they are just 14 points behind leaders Kington after a tremendous demolition of relegation-threatened Hagley on Saturday.

Paul Connolly's 5-32 ensured Hagley struggled to score runs though their fellow villagers avoided a complete disaster, hanging on at 157-9. J Trinham scored 42 runs for the visitors.

But Chaddesley clinched 20 points comfortably with Riches hammering 99 not out and Boden supporting him well with 60 not out.

Hagley 157-9, Chaddesley Corbett 161-0.

Chaddesley seconds are also in terrific shape after amassing a huge 323-5 in a comprehensive 187-run thrashing of Hagley.

They are second in the table, 10 points behind Droitwich, with Tom Mole yet again proving a star with the ball and Rob Stephens impressing with the bat.

Stephens's 103, combined with 75 from Rob Teague and 55 by Matthew Yardley, helped Chaddesley rack up their ominous total.

They clinched the full 24 points as Hagley fell for 136 with Mole rampant, ripping through the home batting with superb figures of 7-21.

Only A Shaw (65) could make much of an impression for them.
