HAVING been a First Aider for more than 60 years and a voluntary health visitor for 16 years, I was on the receiving end of some of the best treatment anyone could get at the new hospital.

Yes, the car parking is frustrating, but it is not the fault of the excellent staff. There is a really good bus service, which covers a wide catchment area.

My wife rang 999 after I suffered either a heart attack or severe indigestion. The ambulance was at our house within a few minutes, and the highly efficient paramedics calmed the situation, applied pain relief, and when this was done, it was a seven-minute drive to hospital.

I would like to thank the senior consultant, sisters, nurses, advisers and support staff, who all gave a very friendly and excellent service.
