TWO people were killed in a spate of Wyre Forest road accidents over the Bank Holiday period.

There were three smashes which left a pensioner and a motorcyclist dead.

Andrew Hall died in the early hours of Sunday when his Triumph motorcycle collided with a Skoda.

The 45-year-old from Worcester was killed in the incident on the A4117 Cleobury to Bewdley road at Mawley Oak, close to the Clows Top junction, at 12.30am.

Another motorcyclist was involved and suffered a shoulder injury.

Police said the two bikers were travelling towards Clows Top with the Skoda heading to Kidderminster when the accident happened.

A Nuneaton pensioner was killed the following day on the A448 at Stone. She was a front seat passenger in a Nissan Sunny which collided with a Hyundai Lantra.

Charlotte Roberts, 89, was in the car with three others, all of whom suffered minor injuries following the accident at 1.40pm.

She was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital but died later. Passengers from both vehicles were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed and diversions operated for two-and-a-half hours.

The air ambulance had already been called into action on Friday after three cars were involved in a smash on the A450 Hagley to Mustow Green road, just after 4pm.

The service was called in to airlift a 57-year-old woman to Worcestershire Royal Hospital following the crash at the Deansford Lane junction involving a Ford Sierra, a Vauxhall Cavalier and a BMW 316.

Three others involved were taken to hospital by ambulance but all were released after treatment for slight injuries.
