OWNERS and managers of fledgling, high-growth companies can receive specialised advice for a fraction of the usual cost through a Government scheme.

Mustard.uk.com is an initiative involving commercial consultancy companies and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Business start-ups and young companies in high-growth sectors can enjoy £5,000 worth of consultancy services from firms such as PKF, Genesis and Mazars, for £500.

The programme is delivered by Business Link, Herefordshire and Worcestershire and co-ordinated by the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Kul Sanghera, project manager for Mustard.uk.com, said the six consultancy firms assisting the scheme were the best in the country.

"We can now call upon one of the most diverse and accomplished groups of consultants ever assembled in the UK, and this has got to be excellent news.

"Each firm brings to the table a comprehensive skills base, local knowledge and a proven track record of assisting high-growth business start-ups and young companies."

The scheme has already helped 800 companies in the West Midlands and aims to help a further 1,000 by 2005.
