STEVE Johnson has achieved a rare feat in Worcester skittling circles.

The 41-year-old scored five 'spares' in his five legs, playing for Rushwick against Castaways in Monday Division One of the Worcester Friendly League.

But his total score of 67 still wasn't enough to prevent his side losing the match by three pins!

Steve ended with legs of 15, 13, 15, 11 and 13 in the match at the Portobello pub, and admitted: "One of our players has been playing since 1934 and he couldn't remember it being done before.

"It was just one of those nights -- luck was with me and I managed to hit the right pins at the right time. It was a shame we lost but the rest of the team were over the moon for me -- they couldn't believe it either."

Steve has been playing for Rushwick for 18 years, and not surprisingly it was his highest ever score.
