A RETIRED research chemist died after he choked on his food at a family meal, an inquest heard.
Gordon Sutcliffe, who was a widower, had been enjoying Sunday lunch with his son in Ombersley, when he had difficulty swallowing, Worcestershire Coroner Victor Round told the inquest in Stourport on Tuesday.
The 83-year-old from Cardinal Drive, Kidderminster died on Sunday, March 23 at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
"An ambulance was called and he was taken to the accident and emergency," said Mr Round. He recorded a verdict of misadventure.
