TWO speed cameras on the A46 between Alcester and Stratford are to be switched on soon.

The Warwickshire Casualty Reduction Partnership hopes the fixed cameras will reduce the number of people killed or hurt on the road each year.

On the 8km stretch of road between Drayton Manor Drive and the Norton Lenchwick Bypass, there have been 71 collisions resulting in 123 casualties.

a) 29 of the casualties had serious injuries and 2 people died.

b) Four of the casualties were children and one a pedestrian.

c) 34 per cent of the collisions were speed-related.
