MALVERN'S Welsh International David Llewellyn makes his debut for the club at Spring Lane tomorrow (Saturday).

Still trying to regain full match fitness, Llewellyn has had a couple of outings with Newport's second string, including a half against Bath United early this week.

Malvern director of rugby David Robins said: "Dai came through unscathed and has decided that he needs sustained competitive rugby to get back to full fitness.

"The Kenilworth match this week will get him used to his new colleagues and they will be able to establish a rapport, with a potentially bigger test coming against the mobile Dunstablians side at home on December 28."

Llewellyn's clearance to play for Malvern came in time for this weekend.

Robins continued: "The only downside is that Newport will be monitoring his progress. If it is good, then they may well decide to re-register him at the end of January cut-off date. Whatever happens, we will have benefited from playing with a top-drawer scrum half with 23 caps, something that not many junior clubs can claim."

The Kenilworth match kicks off at 2.15pm while the Dunstablians game next Saturday is a 1.45pm start, still to be confirmed.
