SOMETHING fishy will be going on at a Spa chip shop later this week.
Owner of Droitwich Chippie, Andrew Ellinas will be decorating his joint with balloons and banners to welcome two officials of the fish-frying world.
A representative from the National Fish Frying Federation will be visiting the Primsland Way shop to sample some of the traditional British grub.
The federation was founded in 1913 and aims to watch over the interests of members of the specialist trade.
An inspector from Seafish Quality will also be calling into Droitwich Chippie to take the taste test.
Andrew hopes this visit could result in the store being recognised for excellent quality. His three other stores, in Redditch already have this accolade so he is hoping to net another success.
The Seafish Quality Award Scheme was set up in 1987 to encourage better standards of food. Only 800 chippies in Britain have so far achieved the gong.
Andrew said: "I am really looking forward to the visit."
