AN energetic Droitwich woman is going for the double by completing her second marathon in a matter of months.

Kind-hearted Faye Kelly is planning to run the London Marathon to raise pots of cash for the Cancer Centre of Excellence Appeal at St Bartholomew's Hospital.

She completed the Paris Marathon last April, raising an incredible £650 for Childline.

"When I agreed to run last year I thought it would be a once in a lifetime challenge," said the 29-year-old.

"But I raised so much money, that when I had the chance to enter again on behalf of the Bart's Cancer Centre of Excellence, I just couldn't let the opportunity pass."

However, this time Faye, of Addyes Green, plans to up the stakes and is looking to raise more than £2,000 for the cancer charity.

The fact Faye's grandmother died of breast cancer in 1994 makes her even more determined to exceed her targets. "Breast cancer has become the most common cause of death of women in the UK, so it's not surprising that I, like many others, have seen relatives succumb to this disease," she said.

The trainee accountant is urging residents and businesses to dig deep and pledge their support. Those interested can call Faye on 07980757833 or email her at
