GOAL poacher Michael Moore has been snapped up from Stratford Town to end Stourport Swifts' search for a prolific scorer.

The 29-year-old is among new boss Dave Titterton's initial signings as Swifts hunt their elusive first win of the season.

Titterton has also sealed the moves of right-sided midfielder Leon Blake from Hinckley United and full-back John Cotterill who has left Bridgnorth Town.

Moore bagged 45 goals for Stourbridge in the 2000/01 Midland Alliance, finishing just behind Lee Booth as he fired Swifts to promotion.

Titterton declared: "A lot of clubs have been after these three and we fought off six or seven to sign Michael Moore.

"I said when I took the job I could introduce good players to the club and they certainly aren't coming for the money. They know I will play the right way.

"We've been short of a proven goal-scorer and Michael knows where the back of the net is."

Blake is another former Stourbridge player who has had limited chances in the Dr Martens Premier Division with Hinckley, while Cotterill has been on the books at Hereford.

Titterton added: "I will hopefully be signing another player before Saturday, a centre-half with lots of pace who has played in the Premier Division."

The new signings, including former Chaddesley Corbett defender Alex Kilgour, go into the squad to host Bedworth United on Saturday in the Western Division.

But the influential Simon Marsh is out for about six weeks with a broken toe, joining Craig Webb (foot) and Sean Wright (ankle) on the sidelines.

Centre-back Dave Davies (thigh) is 50-50 for the weekend, while wideman Richie Gardner has left for Sutton Coldfield.

However, Richard Crisp could return to Swifts after a brief exit and midfielder Adam Nicholls was set to return to training today.

Titterton started his reign with a good 1-1 draw at Clevedon before Tuesday's 3-0 Worcestershire Senior Cup loss to Halesowen Town.

But the manager said: "I cannot fault the Halesowen performance and it would have been a different story if we'd stuck a couple of chances away in the first half.

"My first target is to get 10 points as quick as possible and Bedworth is a big game for us.

"I want teams to know they will have a difficult game at Walshes Meadow. I want a blend of pace, experience and youth in our team."

Parfait Medou-Otye has played for Mansfield's reserves but will continue to star for Swifts until he finds a professional deal.
