BROMSGROVE Nail Forgers Ltd held their 14th annual general meeting. The chairman expressed his pleasure at the favourable state of the balance sheet. He remarked the provident fund had also been most useful, in the case of the death of a member a £4 grant was made to relatives.

A WOMAN was indicted for obtaining three tinned boxes, a quantity of clothing and a sum of money by false pretences. The woman had been an inmate of Powick Lunatic Asylum near Worcester. When she was discharged she came to Bromsgrove to visit a fellow patient. She then pretended to be a matron from the asylum and obtained the items.

MR Frank Holyoake submitted outline plans for the Ivy Cottage, Catshill, to the licensing committee. Mr Holyoake planned to refurbish the sanitary arrangements and renovate the building. He said he had the approval of Superintendent Pitt. The plans would be discussed next month.

A CONCERT was given in the boys' schoolroom at Belbroughton to raise funds for the workmen's club. There was a selection of music played on the hand bells by a party of Chaddesley Corbett players.

BROMSGROVE Gas Company reported that they had a good year. The company had made steady and substantial advance in recent years.
