DEAR EDITOR -- In your edition of March 12 where the Mayoress of Droitwich expressed she would be travelling on public transport, I thought - well let's hope we can get something done.
At least while I was Mayor of Droitwich Spa in 1995/96 travelling every day on local transport the local buses were more reliable. Now they have declined.
I read with amazement my council tax promises, especially the county council where it stated improved bus services. How can they say this when my bus service has stopped. I cannot get a bus before 9-10am and only one an hour and the 22 bus I get to Worcester/hospital has been cut.
I would challenge Kate Spencer to get a bus from the Valley Way estate at 7.40 to the town. When I contacted the manager at First Plus he stated 'tough you will have to walk' -- this is very caring.
AM Isaacs,
Wey Close,
Chawson Valley,
Droitwich Spa.
