ANDY Keast was happy with Worcester's display after watching his side see off Wakefield 36-0.

The Sixways coach believed the Warriors did well to overcome difficult conditions and a Wakefield side who were determined to defend and infringe for 80 minutes.

"I'm very pleased," he said. "We kept the ball so well in the first half and, although we didn't score the tries we would have wanted, we didn't get too much room to play rugby.

"I don't want to knock the referee and we spoke to him at half time and things improved in the second. We drove the ball a little bit more in the second half and kicked a little more because in the first half we weren't getting lineouts and positions in which we could go on and drive the ball.

"In those wet conditions, though, I thought we did well to score six tries. It was a real banana skin but we've come through it and now we can focus on Rotherham.

"I never felt that we wouldn't get the four tries and the bonus point. You get a feel for a game and I thought we would be OK as long as we were patient. What's pleasing is that we've come out in the second half, adjusted the game-plan and gone on to score four tries. That shows we can be flexible if things aren't working and we need to change things slightly."

Keast was also pleased, however, that five out of six tries came from expansive rugby rather than a driving game.

"It was nice that the final try, from Duncan Roke, was started by a counter attack despite the poor conditions. We kept on attacking until the end and I think we could have probably had a little more injury time.

"I think the boys have been professional. Everybody knows that the Rotherham game is just around the corner but they stuck to their task well and put their bodies on the line for the club. We are very pleased with them all."
