SOLID defender Scott Stamps must have an operation on his torn abductor muscle.

Stamps, who suffered the injury in the LDV Trophy win over Swindon, faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines as a result.

The 27-year-old left-back or centre-half was today given the bad news by a specialist.

Stamps has been in impressive form this season, proving a key part of Harriers' mean three-man defence.

But he would have missed tomorrow's FA Cup first round replay anyway due to suspension after his red card against Carlisle earlier this month.
