REDS manager Rod Brown lauded twin strikers Paul Danks and Lee Booth for their hard-working display in Saturday's crucial 2-1 win at Swindon Supermarine.

New signing Peter Sutton claimed the goals to sink the hosts but Brown said it was his forwards who had created room for the new boy.

Danks, returning from a back injury, is goalless since late December and Booth has yet to score in a competitive game for the club but both enjoyed vocal support from the hardy band of travelling supporters.

And the result left Brown bullish about the rest of the season.

"I have been saying for some time the points will come and you have to look at our remaining fixtures and say we have RC Warwick twice, Cirencester and Bilston and they are all games you have to be confident of getting points out of," said the United chief.

Field completed his suspension and was set for a place on the bench ahead of last night's planned home six pointer against second from bottom RC Warwick.

Saturday's win leaves Redditch 13 points clear of the bottom club with only one side likely to be cut from the Dr Martens Western Division after Bloxwich United's demise.

And Brown, bouyed by a barrage of support on the thisisrufc.co.uk website since a call for him to go, will have been hoping to increase that to 16 last night and dump Warwick 12 points behind his side.

Redditch entertain a fourth placed Weston side at the weekend (ko 3pm).

Defender Tommy Byrne needs match fitness after a hamstring injury and forward Mark Swann is a fortnight away with a thigh problem.

United visit Sutton Coldfield Town on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
