ANDY Keast paid tribute to Worcester Rugby Club's resolve after they grafted out victory at Sharmans Cross Road.

The Sixways coach was delighted with the spirit on show as Worcester came from behind to take all five National One points on offer.

"It was always going to be hard especially in this light, or lack of it!," he said.

"They were in our faces all day long -- they wanted to spoil everything we were trying to do. But we stuck at it and to score six tries was a great effort. We came here to do a professional job -- we've done that and I'm very pleased with the boys because they were up against it at some points of the match.

"Things didn't go our way in the game. We didn't have the flow so we had to dog it out and that's where the character comes in and there's plenty of it in this squad. The forwards last week were exceptional and here they came up against much bigger opposition and a lot more physical. They competed well."

Worcester led 20-10 at half time but it was hardly a fluent display. Keast, though, was not panicking.

"I didn't have any concerns at all," he added. "It was untidy at times but it was a local derby and there is always going to be an aspect of that. It wasn't pretty but we did the job. But this game was all about coming here and gaining the bonus point that Rotherham didn't."

Super sub Jim Jenner made a massive impact after coming off the bench on the hour and Keast was, tongue-in-cheek, taking responsibility for the master switch which led to the bonus point try soon after.

"I'm totally taking responsibility," he quipped. "I screamed out into my microphone that I wanted Jim Jenner and Craig Chalmers on and they've done extremely well.

"But that's what a successful squad system is all about. When players come on, they want to make an impact -- they are hungry."
