KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' new signing Andy Bishop is expected to make his debut in tonight's Nationwide Lea-gue Division Three clash against high-riding Torquay United at Plainmoor (7.45).

The 20-year-old striker has joined Harriers on a month's loan from Walsall where he has been a regular goalscorer while making his way through their ranks.

The First Division outfit gave Cannock-born Bishop a professional contract in the summer and now feel a spell at Aggborough will help further develop his career.

Harriers' boss Ian Britton, who was impressed by Bishop while watching him play for Walsall reserves, said: "He has played against our youth side for a few years now and he impressed me then. I've also monitored him in their reserve side this season and he definitely has potential.

"He's quick, strong and tenacious. The other young lads we've had here on loan have done well and hopefully he'll follow suit."

Bishop said: "I'm looking forward to going to Kidderminster to show people what I can do. It will be a real challenge, but one that I intend to grab with both hands. I am hoping to make the move a success for everyone concerned."

Harriers, meanwhile, will again be without loan midfielder John Melligan who was recalled by Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend and figured as a 90th minute substitute in their victory over Coventry City.

Britton, however, is hopeful that the Dubliner will return to Aggborough when Wolves injury problems subside.

Harriers will be without midfielder Sean Parrish because of a groin injury sustained during Saturday's home 2-2 FA Cup first round draw with Rushden & Diamonds.

Defender Scott Stamps has a similar injury problem and is a doubtful starter for what Britton believes will be a difficult test against the Gulls tonight.

He said: "Torquay have had a couple of good results on home soil but, as I keep saying, I'm more concerned with how we do, rather than what the opposition does. I've seen nothing in this league to frighten us."

Tonight's match was originally due to have been played on Saturday, November 2, but was called off half an hour before the scheduled kick-off because of a waterlogged pitch.

FORMCAST: Harriers to lose 2-1.
