BROMSGROVE Rovers boss George Rooney is closing in on several more new signings.
Rooney, whose side entertain Second Division Walsall in a friendly tonight (7.45), has made a seven-day approach for defender Ian Cooksey, brother of former Rovers goalkeeper Scott.
He is also tracking former Rovers midfielder Rob Powell, currently playing for Alvechurch.
Rooney also hopes to give run-outs to triallists Dean Tilley, once of Birmingham City, ex-West Bromwich Albion trainee Jamie McWilliams and former Telford United player Stuart Hart.
