BROMSGROVE Rovers were beaten in injury time for the second game running as Moor Green maintained their 100 per cent record with two late goals at the Victoria Ground on Saturday.

Welcoming back Mark Bowater, Richard Ball and Colin Radburn, the home team took early control and Stuart Payne almost latched onto a long ball from Kevin Ashley on two minutes, but was foiled by Moor Green 'keeper Jim Arnold.

With the lively Payne causing problems the visitors were thankful for a timely challenge by Matthew Smith on 12 minutes.

The home team took the lead after 33 minutes when Payne slid a perfect pass for fellow striker Ball who struck a powerful shot past Arnold in the bottom corner.

Both Russell Dodd and Bowater were harshly entered in referee Fender's notebook as several rash challenges by both teams went unpunished.

Mark Shepherd should have brought the scores level four minutes before the interval, but hit his shot straight at Derek Dudley in the Bromsgrove goal.

Moor Green started the second half brightly, Ashley prevented Craig Woodley from getting in a shot and, seconds later, Dudley did well to hold a right wing cross.

Payne hit the crossbar for the home team and both Ball and substitute Colin Radburn had long range efforts saved by Arnold.

The last 20 minutes saw the Bromsgrove defence under siege. Dudley saved with an outstretched hand on 71 minutes but could not prevent a Shepherd header from finding the net five minutes later.

For the second game running at the Victoria Ground, Rovers were denied a point in injury time when Hall slotted home from close range.
