BROMSGROVE Rovers face a goalkeeping crisis at the start of a critical week in their Dr Martens League Western Division survival bid.

Their one 'keeper Elliott Morris was rushed into hospital earlier this week with appendicitis, and following an operation he will miss the rest of the season.

With their youth 'keeper also injured, Rovers have asked permission to sign another 'keeper as an emergency measure. The Football Association have sanctioned it and they are now awaiting ratification from the league.

It's come at a bad time with Rovers having to squeeze five games into the last week of the season, with a weekend double-header at bottom club Paget Rangers tomorrow and at Racing Club Warwick on Sunday (both 3pm).

Director of football Steve Daniels admitted: "This is probably the most important week in the history of the club. We have to stay in this division.

"Tomorrow is a game they have got to win but we have to win as well."

Mark Creighton, Kevin Banner and David Bridgewater are also injury doubts for Rovers.
