PAT Bannister has appealed to Bromsgrove Rovers supporters to help him complete his takeover of the club.

Rovers' chief executive says he is "not far off" taking over the majority shareholding in the club from former chairman Stuart Arnold, after several months of negotiations.

But he is looking for other people with an interest in the club to join his consortium.

He said: "To be honest I don't think we are that far off now. We are basically waiting for the accounts to be forwarded and once that has been done and providing there are no major problems, we are almost there."

Bannister said that because of the delay in the take-over, one member of his consortium had pulled out.

"We could certainly do with another person coming on board. If they are seriously interested in coming forward, they should do so now."

Bannister is hoping to conclude the deal before Bromsgrove's players report back for pre-season training on Thursday.
