BROMSGROVE Rovers boss Steve Daley believes that a 'clear the air' meeting has kick-started their season into life.

Rovers scored their first win of the season, 3-0 at Stourbridge in midweek, immediately after a players' meeting in the dressing rooms.

Daley, concerned at how long the side was taking to adjust to life in the Dr Martens League Western Division, said: "I said a few home truths and was looking for a bit of reaction and response from the players as to which way they wanted to go.

"They reacted absolutely brilliantly and we could easily have scored seven or eight.

"With the players we now have, we probably have one of the most talented squads in this league, but it is all about having the right attitude, determination and belief and on Tuesday we showed that."

Rovers are now hoping to build on the Stourbridge result when they entertain second-placed Cirencester Town tomorrow (3.00).

Defender Alex Winstone is Rovers' only injury doubt, having picked up an ankle knock at Stourbridge, but Daley is hopeful he will be fit.

But new recruit Colin Radburn faces a cartilage operation after damaging a knee in last week's home defeat against leaders Moor Green.

Daley says he also hopes to conclude a permanent deal to bring striker Stuart Payne back to the Victoria Ground this weekend.

Payne has been on an extended loan from Kidderminster Harriers since the early weeks of the season, having joined them in a five-figure deal from Rovers last season.

He has struggled for goals since his return, but Daley added: "At the moment he just needs to get one in, but the other night he went through them like a knife through butter at times. Once he gets one he will go on to get plenty."
