WORCESTER Wolves have had a busy summer strengthening both the playing and coaching team.

Having already secured the services of Colin Rhooms from Coventry Crusaders Robbie Baven from Derby Storm and Joshua Cooprider from Northwest Nazarene University USA; the Wolves unveiled two more exciting players who have both been involved in the Birmingham Bullets Program.

James Cheung is a 5ft 10in point guard renowned for his intense defence and ability to control the game. He has played at all levels in the National League in this country.

Paul Gerald is an athletic 6ft 4in forward who has played at English Schools at all ages.

"We have watched the players closely and believe that they can become big favourites within the club," said player-coach Rick Solvason.

"They will definitely create more competition within the squad and both guys possess a tremendous work ethic."

The club are also celebrating the formation of a new coaching staff.

Jimmy Smith and Chris Lowe will both work closely with Solvason when guiding the team this year.

Smith, from the United States, built up a reputation as a shooting guard with Plymouth Raiders and Coventry Crusaders where he was a team-mate of Solvason.

Lowe is a former Worcester Chiefs player who has worked successfully with the Bullets' junior men's team.

"While the players we have acquired are key signings - the strengthening of the coaching staff is vital," added coach Mick Donovan.

"Jimmy Smith will bring a completely new dimension to the club and in Chris we have a brilliant supporting team for Rick.

"We have retained eight players from last year's team and so far added five quality players to the squad - we are also still looking at some exciting local players."
