FOUR players have signed for Bromsgrove Rovers as the pre-season build up prepares to enter its final week.

Richard Burgess, Scott Leydon and Leon Broadhurst have all been taken on by the Victoria Ground club following successful trial spells.

Goalkeeper Chris Taylor also joins as a replacement for Matt Lowe, who left the club during the pre-season programme.

With ten days to go before the Dr Martens Western campaign kicks-off, the signings are part of the finishing touches being made to the squad by joint managers Gary Hackett and Jon Ford.

In their penultimate pre-season friendly last Saturday, Rovers fought back from two goals behind to beat new Midland Alliance side Causeway United 3-2.

Hackett and Ford's side looked useful with the ball in the first half but were made to pay twice for defensive frailties and went into the break 2-0 behind.

Rovers picked themselves up in the second half got back into the game through Kevin Banner and equalised when Leydon slotted home a rebound.

Paul Lloyd won it for Rovers one minute from time when he unleashed a 25-yard drive into the top corner.

Hackett said: "In the first half we did not defend very well and found ourselves 2-0 down even though we were playing some good football."

Rovers' final warm-up game is at Alvechurch United this Saturday (3pm).

Their season starts on Saturday, August 17 with a trip to Racing Club Warwick.

The hosts took an early lead after four minutes when Richard Burgess placed a low cross for Kevin Banner to convert from close range.

Chris Taylor saved well from Robert Purdie before the Bulls equalised on 14 minutes.

Steve Guigan brushed aside several challenges on the edge of the area before firing a low shot past the former Green.

The deciding goal came 13 minutes from time when Richard Teasdale skipped past a static Jon Ford to cross for substitute John Grant.
