BROMSGROVE Rovers turn their attentions to the FA Trophy this Saturday as they prepare to put their FA Cup heartbreak behind them.

Rovers, beaten 2-1 by Tamworth last Saturday, entertain Banbury United in the FA Trophy Preliminary Round (3pm).

Joint manager Gary Hackett knows he and Jon Ford have the squad for the job.

He said: "It's important how we bounce back. We have a very resilient bunch but it was a minor setback.

"It was a great team performance, very strong and competitive in all areas. Tamworth have got a large squad a massive budget and we more than matched them."

Rovers remain top of the Dr Martens Western despite not playing in the league since the 3-0 defeat of Stourport Swifts.

Hackett added: "The great thing about winning against Stourport was that it gave us a break from the league for 18 days. It would be nice to have a run in the trophy."

And Hackett also praised the support the team has enjoyed.

"I know when we signed the players the reason they came was because they knew they would be playing in front of large crowds," he said.
