FORMER Birmingham City striker Kevin Francis could make a guest appearance for Bromsgrove Rovers in their friendly at home to Brierley Hill Town tomorrow (ko 3pm) if stitches from a recent knee operation are removed today.

Rovers boss Steve Daniels was awaiting confirmation about Francis' condition after speaking to the six feet seven inch forward last night.

"He rang me last night and said he was hoping to have the stitches out today," said Daniels.

"The operation was a simple flush out and if the stitches come out he will play.

"He is a genuine player and wants to have a game and it would be great to see him play."

The first six fixtures of Rovers' Midland Football Alliance season have been announced and it starts with a tricky trip to Oldbury United, who Rovers lost 2-0 to last season in the preliminary round of the FA Cup.

The games are: Saturday August 11: Oldbury (away); Tuesday August 14: Stratford (home); Saturday August 18: Knypersley (home); Tuesday August 21: Halesowen (away); Saturday August 25: Stapenhill (home); Monday August 27: Studley (away).
