Harold Betteridge, son of Mr Enock Betteridge, Link Farm, was summoned by PS Williams for removing pigs without a licence on March 2. The sergeant stated that he saw the defendant and some workmen driving four pigs along the Worcester Road, Malvern Link. Defendant said the pigs got out of the yard and he was only bringing them back. Fined 10s. Malvern Gazette, March 27, 1903.

The inquiry into the singular death of a child at Ledbury has ended on the only way possible, after the chemical analysis of the body. Ptomaine poisoning caused the death, and it seems likely that the cause was unwholesome food. There was not the slightest evidence at the inquest involving the parents in blame. Malvern, in common with the rest of the country and the British Commonwealth, sorrows this week at the death of Queen Mary, a great and beloved figure who for generations been an inspiration to this nation and the world. Queen Mary, then Princess Victoria Mary, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Teck, stayed in Malvern in September 1891. Malvern Gazette, March 27, 1953.

Mrs Bishop of Homend Crescent has won £300, a £75 television set, or its equivalent, and two pairs of nylon stockings by sharing first prize in a Sunday newspaper fashion competition. Ledbury Reporter, April 4, 1953.

There was a large crowd to see North Ledbury Hunt meet at the Cliffe Arms, Mathon, on Easter Monday, and many mounted followers.

Before moving off, the traditional stirrup cup was handed round by landlord Ted Dawe. Malvern Gazette, March 30, 1978.

Transport minister, William Rogers is to meet a deputation from Ledbury on April 5, to hear the case for a bypass for the town. The deputation will be led by Mr Peter Temple Morris MP and will include the mayor of Ledbury. Ledbury Reporter, March 30, 1978.
