REDDITCH UNITED 0, MALVERN LADIES FC 4

MALVERN Ladies travelled to Redditch United for a Wyvern Associates Cup game on Sunday.

Malvern started brightly and kept the Redditch defence under continuous pressure. After 15 minutes a clearance from the home keeper fell to Sarah Cartridge, who perfectly lobbed the ball over the stranded keeper from 40 yards.

In the 41st minute a free kick by Flick Slater was volleyed into the six yard box by Sam Shail and headed in by Emily Prosser.

The second half carried on in the same style with Malvern limiting the Redditch team to very few goal-scoring opportunities.

Sarah Cartridge scored her second, and Malvern's third, with a cracking 25 yard shot in the 51st minute and in the 70th minute a corner from Flick Slater was powerfully headed home by Karina Farr.

Jenny Shail in the Malvern goal was not called on to make a save during the game mainly due to a good defensive performance. Tracey Evans and Becky Crack had very good games.

On Sunday, Malvern Ladies, who are sponsored by First Floor Flooring, entertain Worcester City in the League Cup semi-final at Victoria Park, kick off 2pm.
