Redditch police chief Patsy Lord, who was suspended in October after allegations of misconduct, has been reinstated to the force.
The claims against Chief Supt Lord are still being investigated but she is currently carrying out non-operational duties for another force.
Ms Lord was suspended after a complaint from within the organisation.
The allegations did not involve issues of dishonesty or integrity.
