STEPHEN Tallet, 19, from Edwin Crescent, Charford, Bromsgrove, got a shock when he went to put on his shoes after enjoying a spot of sunbathing near Tardebigge reservoir. Feeling something with his toe he poked his hand in and out slithered an 18-inch long grass snake.
MIDLANDS TV personality Chris "Tiswas" Tarrant had agreed to open Rubery carnival next month.
THERE was joy among the 32 sixth formers at Waseley Hills High School in Rubery who between them had achieved a total of 81 A-level passes. Headteacher Michael Hillam declared it was a triumph for the comprehensive education system.
CAR worker Dennis Norton had acquired the heavily vandalised Davenall House in Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, in which to house his vast collection of local memorabilia. The building had been acquired by the district council some time ago with a view to demolishing it to make way for a new road, but it was now surplus to requirements.
