REDDITCH skipper Stan Hull admitted it was 'a bit of a blow' to hear title-hopefuls Solihull will field an under-strength team against Stourport.

Struggling Stourport, who visit the current leaders on Saturday (ko 2.30pm), are in the second Powergen North Midlands One relegation spot, a point behind Redditch with two games to play.

Hull was hoping Stourport would lose against Solihull because the second bottom side have what looks like an easy win against league whipping boys Five Ways Old Edwardians on the last day of the season.

And with Redditch preparing for a daunting match against Solihull on the last day of the season Hull had targeted at least a point at Upton on Saturday (ko 3pm) before facing a side he was hoping would already have wrapped up the title.

Hull lost a number of players for the weekend's 54-10 friendly stroll against Old Halesonians but will have little sympathy with Solihull counterpart Richard Gamlin if Stourport get a result.

Solihull skipper Richard Gamlin's troops know a win over Stourport would effectively seal their third successive title because second placed Worcester Wanderers, two points behind, trail the leaders by a points difference of 154.

They consolidated their position at the top by beating neighbours Woodrush 34-12 at the weekend to leave their captain in a bullish mood.

Hull expects to be the only addition to his side at the weekend from the line-up which beat Woodrush 11 days ago.
