A DENTAL practice about to withdraw many NHS services has had to repay a modernisation grant.
The undisclosed sum was paid to Salmon and Light in Stourport last year as part of a £330,000 package for county dentists to upgrade practices.
But the money was conditional on dentists maintaining existing NHS services for two years.
Salmon and Light will withdraw NHS services for many patients from April.
The county's consultant in dental public health Alan McMichael said an "understanding" had been reached with the practice over repayment.
He would not confirm whether all the money or just a portion was repayable.
Dr McMichael said virtually all practices in Wyre Forest were full and closed to new NHS patients but added there were moves to try to expand provision.
Salmon and Light declined to comment.
