THE classic and spine-chilling tale of Sweeney Todd the barber and his neighbouring accomplice was told with a humorous slant in this latest Break-a-Leg performance.
With a degree of slap-stick humour and melodrama, members of the cast portrayed through dialogue and song, the grisly tale of how 'the best meat pies in London' came to be made.
Whilst the audience was at times a little unresponsive, the second half saw them liven up, as I think did the performance.
For me, however, the show was stolen by Napoleon Bedlammer, played by John Sutton-Smith.
For just a few moments I was transfixed by his entrance before the madness of his role began to make everyone relax and enjoy the rest of the show.
