ANYONE who racially abuses or attacks taxi drivers in Redditch could be caught on film if a new scheme goes ahead.
CCTV cameras are set to be installed in taxis in an attempt to stamp out racial abuse and assaults on cabbies.
The police, together with other agencies and Redditch Council, have been awarded several thousand pounds from the Government's Safer Communities Initiative that could be used to run a pilot project to test the scheme's feasibility.
Sgt Ian Joseph, of Redditch police, said different options were being explored as to which CCTV system would be the most effective.
Sgt Joseph said a high-profile police operation could also be launched in an attempt to stamp out the problem.
