THE alarm has been raised by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service and county Trading Standards after a resident was offered two smoke alarms and a small fire extinguisher for £150.
The Warwickshire resident was given the chance to buy a 'fire safety pack' after having a burglar alarm fitted and immediately complained to the fire service, which is now warning all residents to be on the lookout.
Free fire safety advice is also available from the fire safety helpline on 01926 466282.
