Pegasus 1 Woofferton 3
AFTER much discussion and frantic work by the Pegasus ground staff in Hereford this Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division match was eventually given the go ahead.
Both teams made light of the very difficult conditions with Pegasus shading first half possession and the visitors creating the better chances but being unable to finish.
Play continued to move from end-to-end after the break and Kevin Phasey gave Woofferton the lead when he hit the target with a crisp drive from the edge of the box.
Steve Minton extended Woofferton's lead when he nipped in between the home goalkeeper and a defender to flick home a right wing cross from Simon Lane.
Woofferton defender Mark Tonkinson gave Pegasus some encouragement when his attempted headed clearance sliced into the net for an own goal.
But the visitors sealed victory, and opened up a four point gap at the top of the table, when striker Duncan Edwards surged through to lob the advancing goalkeeper.
