AN Alcester police patrol car was damaged after a generator was thrown from another car leaving a pub near Alcester on Thursday.
The police car was patrolling the area as part of the crackdown on crime in pub car parks and was starting to follow the suspect car, a Peugeot 405, from The Stag pub in Red Hill at about 9pm last Thursday after it left without headlights turned on.
The Primera police car was then damaged on the front underside when a small generator was thrown from the Peugeot into its path and lodged underneath. No-one was hurt.
The Peugeot was later found burnt out in Sambourne and police have discovered the generator had been stolen from a car in Broom, Warwickshire.
Forensic tests are being carried out and inquiries are continuing to establish if the Peugeot was stolen.
