Ludlow Ladies 3 Montgomery 0
LUDLOW Ladies returned from the Christmas break with a renewed determination.
At home against Montgom-ery, to whom they lost 6-0 when they played them away, Ludlow got off to a brilliant start by wrong-footing the Montgomery def-ence to almost score in the first 20 seconds of the game!
This dynamic start, though not producing a goal, certainly paved the way for the rest of the game. Ludlow's attacking play was excellent, with Jo Andrews out-running the opposition's defence time after time.
Half way through the first half, captain Annette Burgoyne scored a much-deserved goal and, had it not been for a strong keeper, Ludlow would have scored many more.
The second half again saw Ludlow dominating, with Jenny Cullen and Emily Davies controlling the superb attacking play, while Alice and Lucy McCourt were both unlucky not to score.
Burgoyne scored her second goal and later Davies powerful strike was deflected in by the opposition to give a final score of 3-0.
This result was a fantastic start to the second half of the season and all ladies played well. Jenny Cullen was attacker of the match and Claire Ellis was defender.
