ALCESTER in Bloom's financial plight may be over thanks to a lifeline from two generous town trusts.
Church Street Properties and Moorfields Trust have each handed over £2,000 to the In Bloom committee for the replacement of decaying hanging baskets and flower troughs around the town.
They have also donated £500 to committee funds.
In Bloom needed the cash to get vital match-funding from Stratford Council and were given a four-month deadline in December to raise the money.
The Chronicle reported In Bloom's need to raise £11,500 to replace about 50 hanging baskets and flower troughs.
The In Bloom AGM is on Monday, February 17, at 3 Sherwell Drive from 7.30pm.
