A HOSPITAL worker has been rewarded for his efforts in helping his colleagues to get away from it all.

During the past three years David Banner, a porter at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, has organised many European trips for staff, their families and friends.

The value-for-money trips have included visits to Amsterdam, Brussels and Dublin with the aim of bringing staff together socially outside of the work environment.

Dave has been so successful that he recently won the top award, which is given annually by travel firm European Connoiseurs to the person who has got the most number of staff to join the trips.

Dave, from Bromsgrove who is single and aged 40, said: "The organising of these trips is time consuming, but it is made up for the fact that all the staff enjoy them and are always looking forward to the next one."
