THE usual numbers of ladies attending has been somewhat decimated this month by 'flu and a rather unpleasant virus, a smaller attendance than usual gathered at The Ladybird Inn for the tasty meal of lamb and mint sauce, a chocolate sponge and custard pudding.
The sick members will be very sorry they missed out on that!
The pre-booked speaker was also unable to attend but we were very fortunate in finding Michael Wall who was willing and able to entertain us, almost at a day's notice!
He brought an hour-long slide show of what he called "Forgotten Worcestershire".
Over a period of years, Worcestershire boundaries have changed considerably, either taking in, or being taken in by the West Midlands i.e. Dudley, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Gloucestershire. This proved to be a most interesting talk, some of the changes had been known to us but had been forgotten about, others had taken place so long ago that we didn't even know about them.
Next month the rather important AGM will take place, with a speaker as well, Mrs R Morris, giving us a slide show entitled "Tour of the British Isles".
Members are reminded that it is most important to pre-book their lunch with Brenda Graham, telephone her on 01527 874463, rather than just trusting to luck and turning up.
Phone no later than Tuesday, February 18, please.
