DEAR EDITOR - Droitwich is an historical town full of fascinating facts from the past, it probably has more history within its bounds than any small town of an equal size.

If we walk around the town to see something of its fascinating history - what have we got?

The Priory, that's got to be a museum - no private offices can go in there - the old pump in one of the little streets off the High Street - it's not really historic is it? How about the reconstruction of the brine pit in Vines Park? If it hadn't got bars around it I would think it was something someone had dumped.

Then there is the Heritage Centre. At last something of interest that gives some history of this town - there isn't a lot - but it is very interesting.

How the town grew up around the salt and how things were built in the past. Some things were more interesting than others, some really enlightened me to what is going on i.e. Worcestershire Brine Baths Hotel, with pictures showing how it was with its beautiful interior.

I read on. Two houses once stood upon this site and when the owner went bankrupt, John Corbett purchased the land and built the hotel on the site in 1891. It still remains as a hotel and us currently undergoing restoration.

Well that put my mind at rest. No council in its right mind would allow a large piece of history in such a small town be demolished - would they?
