NEW horizons for the over 50s could be opened up with the launch of the first Action Forum.
BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester breakfast show presenter Mike George will open the event, from 11am-1pm next Wednesday at Redditch Town Hall.
Its aim is to inform people about the group, set up to promote the interest of older people on issues such as health, community care, transport, housing and roads.
There will be free refreshments and more than 30 information stands from organisations providing services for the over 50s in the town.
Mr Brooker added independent forums for older people had already been successfully established in Bromsgrove, Wychavon and Wyre Forest.
Worcestershire County Council, Redditch and Bromsgrove Primary Care Trust, Redditch Council and Age Concern will have representatives at the event.
The forum's first public meeting is at the town hall from 10.30am on Thursday, February 27.
