AGENCIES across the county have joined forces with Redditch Council to launch a strategy aimed at providing affordable warmth for all residents.
Latest figures suggest 40-50 people will die in Redditch each year due to cold-related illnesses, higher than the national average.
The strategy is a partnership between councils, npower, Primary Care Trusts, National Energy Action Charity and the Energy Saving Trust Local Authority Support Programme.
It also aims to eradicate fuel poverty across Worcestershire in the next 10-15 years and has been produced by a steering group, which will continue as the Worcestershire Affordable Warmth Action Group.
