MEMBERS of town health watchdog, the Redditch and Bromsgrove Community Health Council (CHC), have finally been given a date for its disbandment.
After a year of doubt, the Government finally announced CHCs nationwide would be scrapped on September 1 in favour of new Patients' Forums.
The new forums will work within the Redditch and Bromsgrove Primary Care Trust and will take on those old CHC roles as well as be given wider powers to inspect health provision in the towns.
Critics have questioned whether the forums will be as independent as the CHCs.
