Sunday saw twenty two Needles anglers turning up to fish the third winter league match on the club waters at Great Alne.

With conditions difficult, Lee Taylor found 4lbs 7ozs of bream and chub on peg 15 using pole fished worm, all his fish coming in the last hour of the match.

In second place was Mick Rippington with 3lbs 8ozs of chub taken from peg 24 using pole fished caster.

In third place on peg 17 was Steve Berry with 3lbs 5ozs, mainly chub using pole fished maggot.

Finally in fourth place was Phil O'Donnell with chub for 3lbs 2ozs using red maggot on the link fishing on peg 16.

The final match of the series will be fished Sunday 16th Feb at Great Alne, draw 7.45pm.

Here are the results of the second round of the Redditch Federation Team Winter League 2003, sponsored by Sensas UK fished on the B'ham - Stratford canal at Earlswood Saturday 1st Feb.

The conditions were not too bad for the 20 teams of 4 anglers, but the fishing was very hard due to the cold days we'd had prior to the match.

1st overall K Adderley (Lifestyle V D E ) with 3-9-12.

2nd overall Derik Jackson (Dams & Lock Blue) with 2-12-6.

3rd overall Martin Thorp (Yardley Wood Social Club) with 2-7-8.

4th overall Matt Hodgetts (Middy Team Central) with 2-4-10.

5th= overall Steve Marke (Ovation Leisure) and Keith Woodhead (Ovation Leisure) with 2-1-0.
